Nybyen Student Housing

The Student Welfare Organisation in Tromsø (SWO) owns 6 barracks in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. Five of these are renovated miners barracks, and the sixth, barrack 1, was built in 2004.

The barracks are run from Forskningsparken, UNIS, where a local representative from SWO occupies office A117.

All units are fully furnished, including a duvet and a pillow. There is also some kitchen equipment in the barracks, so there is no need to bring your own.

The barracks are situeated in Nybyen approximately3 km from the center of Longyearbyen.
